Self Sufficiency…moving forward

Prabhupāda: “My idea is that all our centers should be self-supported. We do not like that idea that for your support you have to go 100 miles to get your bread. That is a very dangerous drawback. You produce your food locally and then support yourself. The main problem is what to eat, where to sleep. So we get some place and support ourselves by producing our own food….”

Offer a Lamp

During the Damodara month, the devotees of Krishna offer a lamp in prayer to the Lord, to ask for protection and to answer other desires. Even though the world is going through a difficult period, you can have the ability to offer your lamp from the comfort of your home, against a small donation.

We leven in onzekere tijden.

The Sweetest Daily Sacrifice

After a few days, I began to understand that the time limit was part of the austerity of the yajna. It added a nuance of sense control and quality to the offering. If you only have one hour, every mantra counts. There’s no time to jam, or experiment, or play. This is serious business. Going overtime would be almost akin to tasteless decadence.

A Virus-free Janmashtami!

Radhadesh celebrates Janmashtami annually with around 2000-3000 people attending. How does it function during a pandemic?

Radhadesh is an ISKCON temple situated in Belgium. The community of Radhadesh comprises of 100+ practicing devotees and many visitors that come throughout the day.

During the summer period Radhadesh hosts festivals like the International Yoga day, Summer Festival and Janmashtami. At these festival we become the ‘place to be’. Perhaps what Radhadesh is most famous for in the ISKCON community is the dedication to kirtan. In January, specifically the last weekend of January, Radhadesh becomes a haven for kirtaniyas and kirtan lovers alike. This festival is called Radhadesh Mellows and is one of the core kirtan festivals around the world.

Not only do we facilitate visitors, we also are a hotspot for WOOFERS and other volunteers, who come to spend their time in a unique location. They can do many different activities here and also bond with the community members. The foremost motto for the Radhadesh Community revolves around service and compassion. With this we hope to welcome you soon!
