Updates on Radhadesh festivals

by | Jun 6, 2020 | Community, English

On the 9th of June we will finally be able to reopen all our departments to the public. Therefore after nearly 3 full months, the Boutique, the Restaurant, the Visitor Program, the Retreat Centre, and the Temple room amongst other areas will once again be accessible to all guests and devotees that wish to come and see Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha and the Radhadesh Community.

It will certainly be a slow start as most of our groups and events have been cancelled until the end of Summer. However we do hope to host as many guests as desire to come to Radhadesh.

Please note though that one of the parameters of reopening is that we still keep the required 1,5m distance with guests & and people we are not regularly in contact with. The different departments will be setting things up to respect the required regulations of health, and so we hope devotees will assist by respecting those rules when in those areas (especially during open hours).

With regards to the main Summer events:

  • Yoga Day: the main event will take place online however there will still be one session at 12:00 followed by kirtan on the Sunday 21st June in Radhadesh for those that still do come over.
  • Summer Festival: the festival is cancelled for this summer 2020. The ROSE department will be looking into alternative program for those families that still wish to come over the weekend. It will be called “Radhadesh Family Fun” and will include workshops & activities such as Henna, Garland Making, Gopi Dots, Kids Area, Treasure Hunt, Yoga & Kirtan.
  • Janmastami 2020: we have postponed a final decision on the Cultural Janmastami celebration of the 9th of August until early July and latest one month before the event as we are still awaiting new government updates that could potentially allow us to still hold the event in August 2020

Finally, as much as it’s been a joy to be living daily amongst devotees only, we are opening our doors again and it is important we endeavour to keep the cleanliness, tidiness, and aesthetic aspect of our temple and community as presentable as possible. Many have already been actively doing their part for that, however please do not hesitate in helping out the different departments or temple areas looking as first class as well as making sure in the external areas of the community we are ready to host guests again :).

Hare Krsna,
Manu
